Hypnotherapy (sometimes called hypnotic suggestion) is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help a client reach a state of focussed attention and concentration and heightened suggestibility.
Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through hypnotherapy/hypnosis:
anxiety attacks
phobias
pain management
smoking cessation
stress reduction
weight control
habit changes
confidence building
sports performance
There is a growing body of evidence which shows that adding hypnosis to cognitive behavioural therapy improves outcomes.
It could be said that adding hypnosis “turbocharges” CBT.
Of all psychotherapies CBT has the strongest evidential backing and is now the treatment of choice under the NHS. CBT aims to change thoughts and behaviours to bring about positive changes. Research studies where CBT and hypnotherapy are applied together have shown that they are strongly complementary, and their effectiveness is raised many times when used in combination.
Hypnosis is one of the most researched therapies, referenced in over 11,000 research studies to date.
It is recognised by the British Medical Association and the British Psychological Society as well as the American Medical Association and the US National Institute of health.
Scientific research studies have shown it to be effective in treating anxiety attacks, phobias, pain management, smoking cessation, stress reduction, weight control - as well as supporting behaviour/habit changes, confidence building and sports performance.
As you can see hypnotherapy can help with a huge number of health related issues and whilst I am trained in all of these areas I choose to specialise in a limited number which enables me to provide the best service to clients.
My specialist areas of work are Stress and Anxiety, Phobias, Smoking Cessation, Insomnia and Mental Skills for Golf, just give me a call to discuss your needs.

Craig was empathetic to my phobia and the impact it was having and never made me feel silly or stupid. Craig was keen to agree an achievable goal at the outset and was able to gauge my levels of unease /distress throughout our sessions and modify things accordingly. Craig was also realistic and focused on what would make the biggest positive difference, in the therapy time that we had together. Having lived with my phobia for 50 years I am amazed at what a positive change can be achieved in a few sessions and how determined I am not to slip back to my old behaviours and responses. Thank you.

Craig spent time explaining the process of hypnotherapy to me so I fully understood what it was and wasn't, I was quite sceptical about hypnosis beforehand and wasn't sure whether it would actually work. The sessions were really useful and I also undertook some exercises that Craig suggested outside of the sessions including listening to a recording that Craig had prepared and this has really helped me to control my anxiety, thank you.

A very professional approach, I was a little sceptical it would work, but a few days in from the session and I am happy to say "I am a Non Smoker". Its not a miracle treatment, you really need to be ready to stop, but having tried many other ways this was, to me, my last chance and I'm very pleased with the result.

Morning Craig. Just wanted to say a massive thank you. Today I am a week of no vape, no caffeine and no alcohol and feeling great. Cravings weren’t anywhere near as bad as I thought they would be. Thanks again and happy to recommend.
